Day 140

Yesterday was $0.31 scoop night at baskin robbins that is a fund raiser for the fire department. The firemen scoop the ice cream and in the parking lot is a few trucks and the rescue squad. Aidan looks forward to this day every year.

Day 139

Yesterday was a great day. The weather was beautiful and it was the day of Aidan's concert. I also bought a new bike for myself after not having been on one since I was hit by a car riding one back in college. Aidan was very excited to be able to go on bike rides together. As it turns out Aidan has become a very good bike rider and it is time for him to get a new bike!

The concert was fun. I haven't checked the video to see how it turned out to determine if it's something to post online. The beginning of it Aidan was very mad because he was supposed to be sitting in the front row and another kid took his seat so he had to stand behind him. As soon as his favorite song came up he was happy again and was dancing and smiling and loving being on stage again.

Day 138

Tonight is the 4th grade concert.  Aidan proudly told me that he was in the front row because he is small and it will make it easier for me to see him.  His lacrosse coach gave the boys wolfpack stickers for their helmets last night.  It looks like they will finally have a game this weekend, and not just one game, two!

Day 137

What a beautiful Easter we had. It was supposed to rain all day but didn't start until 7pm. Today lacrosse and gymnastics have conflicts but lacrosse wins today.

Hoppy Easter!

This is the first easter I have been off in several years.  I never thought he would still be believing by the time this easter rolled around.  He doesn't just believe, he BELIEVES! There is no doubt in his mind about the existence of the easter bunny, santa claus, and the tooth fairy.  He told me last week that God invented the easter bunny to make the earth a more exciting and magical place.

The golden eggs always have cash in them and let you know you are close to the basket.

I think he is happy with his easter basket!

Day 136

Aidan is going to actually have lacrosse practice today!!

Day 135

Aidan finally got a haircut yesterday so he looks much better now. They have added an extra practice on Saturday which is good because the gym is closed. Aidan already made himself breakfast...a turkey sandwich. What a weirdo.

Day 134

There is a good chance that the lacrosse game will be cancelled today. If that is the case then I will be taking Aidan for a haircut.  I finally bought everything needed for easter last night and the outfit he needs for his concert next week.

Day 133

Another lacrosse game was rained out yesterday and it is looking like tomorrow's will be rained out also.  The braces check was not what I thought it would be.  All they did was replaces his colored rubber bands (he picked orange and green this time).  The doc said that while they are all straight now they are still pushed out too far to put that bar behind his front teeth. We go back in six weeks.

I don't remember needing such a large backpack in the 4th grade.

Day 132

Today Aidan gets his braces tightened for the first time. Considering that they only hurt him for a few hours when he had them put on I am thinking this will be a breeze.  I'm curious to see how he reacts to how fast Aidan's teeth are going back in place. The orthodontist had said it would correct quickly but in a month's time they look nearly perfect to me.  He has an extra lacrosse practice tonight to make up for the all  cancelled ones due to rain.

Day 130

Lacrosse was cancelled yesterday because of rain and it looks like this weekend might be rained out also. On Friday he has his first braces adjustment.

Day 128

Aidan had a great time at regionals! It was held at one the national training centers in the county that just so happens to be only an hour from our house.  All seven states in the region were there.  It was real tough competition and Aidan did about how he did all year.  I asked his coach why he made so many mistakes on his floor routine and he said "I don't know but he is having fun." That is all that matters to me and I have told him many times that I don't so much care what his score is or how he places as long as he tried his hardest and had fun.  He was sad it was his last meet of the season because he loves being out there in front of everyone competing. But to me, this marks the official start of lacrosse season. He had to miss the first game to attend regionals and the next game isn't for a couple of weeks.

Day 127

Aidan got his lacrosse jersey last night at practice, he is number 4, as a tribute to his uncle's favorite hockey player, Scott Stevens. This will be his jersey for as long as he plays. He is very excited about his regional meet tomorrow!

Day 126

Working on homework that he didn't finish last night.

Day 125

The grin is because I asked him about the empty juice bottle behind him.

Day 124

Aidan had a good day back yesterday. He enjoyed getting to tell everyone about medieval times and what he got for his birthday.

Day 123

So during "spring break" it snowed, twice. It was beautiful out yesterday and will be today.  After that it will be in the 50's which everyone can stand.  All of the optional lacrosse practices were cancelled last week because you can't really practice on snow.  Hopefully the boys can get some in this week.  Looks like tomorrow's will be cancelled because it is supposed to pour tomorrow as it did last night just making the fields an even bigger mess which makes the town close them.
Regionals is on saturday and I cannot wait for it! Partly because it makes it easier to juggle his sports without having a huge competition to train for.
