Update

Nothing really to update on.  My older brother flies in next week and Aidan is super excited!  Yesterday Aidan finally got a new, bigger bike! We got it used from a local bike shop. It is a GREAT bike, one I could never afford as new and it's in great shape and all tuned up by the shop.  Needless to say we got lucky we went that day because it had just been dropped off the day before and the lady said a bike like that doesn't sit for long.

Aidan ended the school year with straight A's so when we went to gamestop I agreed to get him a game guide to go with his new game as a reward!  Here is something I put together to better compare the first and last day of school pictures.  Just click the image to make it bigger if you need to.

Day 180

Wow it's the last day of school already.  It seems like only yesterday he started school.  Aidan is very excited about summer.  We were hoping to go to a carnival tonight with fireworks but the weather is not exactly cooperating.  Fingers crossed!  Aidan also asked to go to Gamestop after school to look at video games, ugh, boys.  This summer are plans include visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, at least one professional baseball game, possible a concert, and an amusement park (he wants to go back to Hershey Park).  I am trying my hardest to be able to go on our annual trip to Virginia Beach also.  Aidan's gymnastics is bumped from 9 hours a week to 12 hours a week (three, four hour days).  

And now for the pictures.  I told Aidan he could do whatever he wanted for the pictures that I only required two.

If you look closely he is sticking his tush out.  Every day when he got on the bus he would stop and shake his tush at me.

Day 179

And here we are at the last sleeping picture of the year. Aidan told me he had a lot of fun at school yesterday. He is very excited to get his yearbook today! K still don't understand yearbooks for elementary school but he loves it and they only cost $20. They also make sure that every kid at the school is in at least one candid picture.

I spoke with my older brother yesterday who is in Omaha, Nebraska for the college world series. He happened to be at a Salt Dogs baseball game in Lincoln. We talked about plans for while he is here and I told him that more than anything Aidan wants to visit the statue of liberty and ellis island because he learned about immigration this year in school.

Day 176

Aidan was up bright and early today. He made his own sandwich for lunch and was dressed ready to go when I got up. Of course he hadn't brushed his teeth yet, the day he brushes his teeth without being told a hundred times will be a miracle.
I cannot believe this is the last week of school!

Day 174-late

Ugh! Again a post that didn't go through! How frustrating!

Day 175

Wow, I cannot believe that there is only one week of school left. I finally was able to get Aidan a much needed haircut yesterday and when we got home he and his uncle had a big nerf gun war. Today is his grades field day which means no classes just fun and playing all day. They used to take each class up to a park but they stopped that a couple years ago for every grade except the 5th grade. I am already getting info for the new stuff he will get to do in the 5th grade like orchestra. Fifth grade was only moved back to elementary school a few years ago.

Day 172

Aidan's uncle Mark arrived from Florida yesterday and that made Aidan very happy! On Sunday I took Aidan sandal shopping and he ended up with those five finger shoes. They are absolutely ridiculous looking but he loves them! He wore them to school yesterday and he said some kids thought they looked weird and others liked them. One of his friends wore them to school a few weeks ago also.

Day 171

Aidan had a great time at his lacrosse tournament on Saturday and was sad to see the season end.

Day 170

I think the temps yesterday hit 100 but in the evening a huge thunderstorm blew all that out. Its supposed to be in the 80's today and 70's tomorrow. There is a good chance of rain tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed since Aidan has his 4 game tournament from 12-5.

Day 169

It may be really hot during the day but it is still cool at night. I had to take the blanket off his face for the picture. He still had lacrosse practice last night.

Oops, it's now 3pm and I see that I didn't send this yet, sorry. He ended up having an early dismissal today because of the heat.

Day 168

For the next 2-3 days the highs are going to be in the mid 90's but then go back to 70's for the weekend.  Last evening the school sent out phone calls and emails reminding people to dress their children appropriately for the weather. Seriously?  And here I figured I would send Aidan to school in sweat pants...

Day 167

It is supposed to get HOT again this week, yuck!

Day 166

Wow what a day Saturday was! The boys won one lost two. It was a very long day and boy was Aidan tired yesterday. This Saturday he gets to do it all again but this time it's a four game tournament. They were also a little extra tired because they had a game Friday night that they won.

Day 165

Aidan not only got himself up this morning but dressed himself, brushed his teeth, and was completely ready to go without a single word from me! I wish every morning was like this!!

Day 164

Aidan decided last night that he thought it best to go to gymnastics for an hour before his lacrosse game. That was his only opportunity for gymnastics this week. They won their game last night! This team clobbered us last year and we won 3-2!

Day 163

Wow, I cannot believe it's June already!  Today there is a 60% change of "scattered strong thunderstorms," which means that it will probably only rain right at the start of the lacrosse game and get it cancelled the way this entire season has gone. Aidan has a ton of energy this morning and was out in the driveway jumping rope before the bus came...oh to be young again.
